Government-on-Wheels delivers free services to 677 Families in Agusan Sur

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur — Another batch of free services was provided to 677 families through the Government-on-Wheels initiative in Barangay Sagunto, La Paz, this province.

The program continues to bring essential services closer to communities, ensuring residents receive the support they need without additional expenses or long travel distances.

Residents of Barangay Sagunto benefited from a wide range of services, including free medical consultations, medicines for schistosomiasis and circumcision. Social services were also provided, such as PhilHealth assistance, birth and death certificate registration, free haircuts, distribution of seeds, food packs and other essential provisions.

“I am thankful that they came here to Barangay Sagunto and offered us free check-ups, especially for those of us who are elderly,” Fausto Montadas Jr., a beneficiary, said.

Many residents took advantage of the free medical services, which helped address their health concerns.

Barangay officials also recognized the program’s importance in improving their community’s well-being. The initiative provided assistance in addressing residents’ health and social service needs.

“We are thankful to the local government unit of La Paz because one of the major concerns in our barangay is the health of our constituents,” said Peter John Leonard Torralba, the barangay captain of Sagunto.

With programs like GOW, the local government ensures that even remote communities receive the services they deserve. By bringing medical and social aid directly to the people, they promote inclusive development and better living conditions.
