Gov’t committed to key infra projects in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental—PBBM

MANILA — President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. assured the people of Negros Oriental of the government’s continuing thrust to build key infrastructure projects in the province.

The government is committed to construct a new airport, rehabilitate a seaport, and establish a health facility in the province, according to the President.

“Dala rin po namin ang mga magagandang balita tungkol sa mga proyekto ng pamahalaan na tiyak na ikasasaya ninyo at pakikinabangan ninyo dito sa Lungsod ng Dumaguete at sa buong Negros Oriental,” President Marcos said during the distribution of Presidential Assistance to Farmers, Fisherfolk, and Families in Dumaguete City.

He said among the major projects is the PhP17.05-billion New Dumaguete Airport Development Project in Bacong, Negros Oriental. The project is expected to boost tourism, trade, and economy in the region.

The President also mentioned the ongoing rehabilitation of the Dumaguete Port Expansion Project. It aims to expand the port’s capacity to serve more passengers and handle additional cargo.

With a total cost of PhP15 million, the health care project will provide medical services and equipment such as birthing clinic, pharmacy, and x-ray machine for the benefit of 30 barangays.

(PND)
