CEBU CITY, Cebu (PIA) — The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) 7 is urging government employees to register and take full advantage of PhilHealth’s KonSulta program.
PhilHealth-7 regional vice-president Marjorie Cabrieto said the KonSulta program is a preventive healthcare measure that offers free basic consultations, health check-ups, and lab tests.
“We don’t have to wait na grabe na ‘ang sakit (until their health deteriorates) and then, ma-admit na sa hospital (be admitted in the hospital),” Cabrieto said during the recent meeting of the Association of Regional Executives of National Agencies (ARENA) in Cebu City.
PhilHealth-7 aims to achieve a high number of government workers in Central Visayas who will register for KonSulta.
“We aim to be on top nationwide nga daghan tang ma-rehistro nga mga empleyado (in which we can register many employees),” she said.
The KonSulta program, which is completely covered by PhilHealth, offers medical consultation, medications, and laboratory tests for free.
“Some agencies don’t have HMOs. This will address that gap. This one, libre na (it is free),” she said.
In support of this initiative, the ARENA has agreed during the meeting to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with PhilHealth to ensure more employees benefit from the KonSulta program.
After the MOA signing, Cabrieto said they will conduct briefings in the government offices in the region to help employees fully understand the details of the program.
“One of the provisions in the contract will be the per office orientation aron maintindihan ng mga empleyado kung ano ang program (so that employees will understand what the program is),” she said.
Government employees can register online via the PhilHealth website: www.philhealth.gov.ph, accredited government hospitals, or through PhilHealth offices to avail themselves of free consultations and services. (MSH/PIA 7 Cebu)
