Gov’t workers to enjoy free LRT-2, MRT-3 rides from Sept. 18-20

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — In celebration of the 124th anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service, government workers will receive free rides on the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) and the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) from September 18 to 20.

MRT-3 General Manager Oscar Bongon greeted and congratulated government employees who faithfully serve the public. the MRT-3 will offer free rides starting at 4:30 a.m. and continuing until the end of its operational hours.

Bongon said that the free ride aims to acknowledge the sacrifices of civil servants.

The LRT-2 management announced that free rides will be available during peak hours, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and again from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

To avail of the free rides, eligible passengers must present a valid government-issued ID.

The LRT-2 line runs from Recto in Manila to Antipolo in Rizal province, while the MRT-3 stretches from Taft Avenue in Pasay City to North Avenue in Quezon City.
