SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union (PIA) – The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) La Union has taken a leap in its digital transformation journey by launching the GSIS 360 Digital Business Center, designed to provide 26,485 members and 10,730 pensioners from La Union and Abra with more efficient and accessible services.
This facility, established on the first working day of 2025, marks the agency’s transition from manual processes to streamlined, technology-driven operations, enhancing convenience and inclusivity for its stakeholders.
With GSIS 360, members can now conveniently perform a wide range of transactions online, including:
- Records: Access membership, loan, claim, pension records, and insurance policies.
- Loans: Apply for loans, calculate tentative amounts, and track loan statuses.
- Claims: File for life and retirement claims and get tentative computations.
- Notifications: Receive updates on premium and loan payments.
- APIR: Schedule your Annual Pensioners’ Information Revalidation (APIR), or complete it through facial authentication using GSIS 360-GTouch.
- Branch Locator: Find the nearest GSIS office.
- Citizens Charter: Learn about GSIS processes.
- Digital ID: Replace your physical UMID card with a digital ID feature.
- GSIS News: Stay informed with the latest updates from GSIS.
This streamlined approach ensures accessibility and convenience for all members and pensioners.
This rollout is part of a nationwide effort to establish similar facilities in every GSIS branch, aligning with the agency’s vision of delivering modern and accessible services.
The facility’s services can also be accessed through the GSIS Touch app, available for download on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. This ensures members and pensioners can conveniently manage their transactions anytime, anywhere.
For pensioners, the Annual Pensioners Information Revalidation (APIR) has also been digitized, allowing them to renew their status during their birth month through online platforms or by visiting GSIS branches.
Seamless digital experience
GSIS La Union Division Chief of Billing, Collection, and Reconciliation Division, Joven Parayno, shared that the new facility is a major milestone in the agency’s modernization efforts.
“This initiative transitions from traditional manual processes to a seamless digital experience, empowering members and pensioners to manage their transactions efficiently,” Parayno explained.
He emphasized that by integrating digital solutions, GSIS is not only improving efficiency but also enabling stakeholders to handle their transactions conveniently and securely from anywhere.
The GSIS 360 Digital Business Center also provides on-site assistance to guide members and pensioners in navigating the new system.
Empowering members and pensioners
Diosdado Guron, Jr., a GSIS member and government employee, meanwhile expressed his satisfaction with the new system.
“Before, I had to take time off work to visit the GSIS office for my transactions. Now, I can apply for a loan or check my membership records online. It’s so convenient, and it has saved me a lot of time,” Guron, Jr. stated.
For pensioners, the digitized APIR process has been a welcome improvement.
Magdalena Bautista, a GSIS pensioner, recounted how renewing her pension status used to be a hassle due to the need to travel.
“With the online APIR option, I can now do it from the comfort of my home, which is a big help for senior citizens like me,” Bautista said.
Building a better future for public service
GSIS La Union Branch Information Officer Angelica Gatchallan emphasized the broader mission of the initiative.
“Our goal is to make GSIS services more convenient, inclusive, and efficient for all our stakeholders. GSIS 360 is a testament to our commitment to modernization and ensuring that we meet the evolving needs of our members and pensioners,” Gatchallan said.
GSIS encourages all members, pensioners, and partner agencies to visit their nearest branch to explore and utilize the GSIS 360 Digital Business Center and its features.
With this innovation, GSIS reaffirms its dedication to delivering quality public service through technology, ensuring no one is left behind. (CCMT/KJCR, PIA La Union)
