GSIS sets pre-retirement seminar for NCR members on June 28

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) is encouraging all members who are 55-64 years old to attend a pre-retirement seminar scheduled by the state pension fund.

According to the state insurance fund, the pre-retirement seminar for members under the National Capital Region (NCR) coverage is scheduled on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 8:30 a.m.

“Ok para sa akin ‘yan seminar, malaking tulong sa mga magreretiro na miyembro dahil mga taga-GSIS na ang sasagot sa mga katanungan tungkol sa retirement benefits at old age pension na siguradong tama ang magiging sagot nila,” said Rhodelia R. Divina an administrative staff at the Philippine Information Agency-National Capital Region, and a senior citizen.

(The seminar is a welcome development, since it will be a big help to the retiring members because the GSIS people will answer the questions about retirement benefits and old age pension that they will surely answer correctly.)

“Maganda rin at magiging updated ka sakaling meron mga pagbabago sa policy ni GSIS, katulad ngayon, wala na ‘yung dating ‘take all’ lump sum, 5-year lump sum at 18-month lump sum na lang ang ibinibigay sa mga retiradong miyembro, at syempre kasama na rin dyan ‘yung kung paano mo paghahandaan ang retirement mo,” Divina added.

(It is also good that you will be updated in case there are changes in GSIS policy, like now, there is no longer the previous ‘take all’ lump sum, only the 5-year lump sum and 18-month lump sum are given to retired members, and of course, the learning includes how you can prepare for your retirement.)

The pre-retirement seminar is an orientation for members who are about to retire from government service.

It provides information on what to expect upon retirement and the procedures on how to apply.

The Zoom link will be sent to the first 500 participants to register.
