‘Handog ng Pangulo’ pours projects in Negros Occ.

NEGROS OCCIDENTAL (PIA) — Some 773 ‘Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers’ (TUPAD) beneficiaries received their wages amounting to more than P3.4 million during the ‘Handog ng Pangulo Serbisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat’ today, Sept. 13, at the Provincial Capitol Park and Lagoon in Bacolod City.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson and Usec. Felipe N. Egargo Jr. of the Department of Labor Employment led the activity, coinciding with the 67th birthday of Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr., with the heads of national and local government representatives.

“TUPAD is an emergency employment. They have to work for 10 days before they can be given their salaries, which is equivalent to the wage order prevailing in the region,” said Usec Egargo.
