LA TRINIDAD, Benguet (PIA) — More than 600 residents benefited from various free services provided during the HEALTHIER Benguet Caravan held in Bokod, recently.
The provincial government of Benguet, in partnership with the municipal government of Bokod conducted an outreach program particularly bringing services of government officess that benefitted residents of Bokod and other nearby areas.
Services offered included medical consultation, physical therapy, minor surgeries, dental consultation, cleaning and extractions, and laboratory services and diagnostics like ultrasound and ECG and eye check-up.
Paralegal services, artificial insemination for swine, anti-rabies vaccinations, deworming, seed distribution, patent releases, and real property tax collection were also conducted during the caravan.
Gov. Melchor Diclas said the activity was in line with the HEALTHIER Benguet development thrust which stands for Health, Education, Agriculture, Livelihood, Tourism, Human Resource, Infrastructure, Environment, and Responsive Governance.
This was the fourth leg of the HEALTHIER Caravan conducted in the different towns of Benguet. The caravan was earlier conducted in Kibungan, Kabayan, and Kapangan,
Diclas expressed gratitude to the various government and private offices and companies and individuals who supported the outreach activity.
Among them are PLGU offices, Benguet General Hospital and the district hospitals in the province, LGU partners, Department of Health, Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center, Benguet Optometrist Association, the Regional and Dental Unit of the Police Regional Office Cordillera, volunteer physicians and health workers
The people of Bokod thru Mayor Thomas Wales Jr. expressed gratitude to the provincial government and all its partners for bringing the various services and programs in the municipality, in time for the town’s 113th foundation anniversary celebration. (RMC- PIA CAR / Benguet PIO)
