TAGUM CITY, Davao del Norte (PIA) —- Career advancement opportunities through education has become accessible to employees of national government agencies (NGA) based in Davao del Norte as the Provincial Government opened the Davao del Norte Learning Institute (DNLI) for their subsidized enrollment.
Early this month of February, the DNLI conducted an orientation on the programs and services it offers for school year 2025-2026 to employees and job order personnel of NGAs and those in Government -owned and controlled Corporations.
Most agencies which attended the orientation were based at the Provincial Government Center. Among them were the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) XI, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Commission on Elections (COMELEC), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Registry of Deeds, Land Transportation Office, Department of Justice, Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).
Others were from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the Philippine National Police (PNP) among others.
The PLGU Davao del Norte provides more than 60 percent subsidy to NGA and GOCC students enrolled in DNLI.
Run under the management of the Provincial Information Communication and Knowledge Management Office (PICKMO), the DNLI is a learning facility of the Provincial Government of Davao del Norte that aims to help government workers based in the province, to finish their higher education.
PICKMO has partnered with the Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) in enabling the DNLI to offer bachelor and masters degree programs.
“We want to open more programs as we can, as long as we can still accommodate the students in our Provincial Government facilities,” said Davao del Norte Public Information Officer, Dr. Mervin Jay Suaybaguio, executive director of DNLI.
“Kung makaya pa, modawat lang gihapon ta. Mas daghang scholars mas daghan ang magka-opportunity nga ma-improve pa, kay ang atong purpose is to professionalize public service in the Provincial Government,” he added.

Undergraduate programs offered by DNLI for academic year 2025-2026 are Bachelor in Public Administration (BPA), Bachelor Science in Disaster Resiliency and Management (BSDRM), Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship (BSEntrep), and Bachelor Science in Tourism Management (BSTM).
Post graduate programs offered are Masters in Information Technology (MIT) and Masters of Arts in Educational Management (MAEM).
Aside from DNSC, PLGU Davao del Norte also partners with other institutions in running the DNLI. These included the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) XI, Department of Education Division of Davao del Norte, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and DILG Davao del Norte.
