NEGROS OCCIDENTAL (PIA) — Himamaylan City reaps honors as it becomes the first Local Government Unit in Western Visayas and the Negros Island Region to have received a certificate of commendation for its implementation of Electronic Business One-Stop-Shop (eBOSS).

No less than Anti Red Tape Authority Director General ARTA Secretary Ernesto V. Perez visited Himamaylan City and personally handed the plaque and certificate of commendation to Mayor Rogelio Raymund I. Tongson, Jr.

“The city of Himamaylan through the able leadership of your mayor, your accomplishments really deserve a standing ovation,” he said.

He noted that the political will of Mayor Tongson is the key that led to where the city is now in terms of digitalization and streamlining of business processes.

“If mayor Tongson can do it, with hard work other LGUs can do it too,” as he encouraged other cities and municipalities in the province to digitize their transactions too.

Perez said the eBOSS system would attract more business and reflect efficiency in governance that will lure investors and businesses alike.

According to him, this will provide more business opportunities and livelihood for all city residents.

“This will undoubtedly fuel the city’s economic engine and propel it towards a brighter future,” he added.

Perez said anyone, around the world, can now transact business in Himamaylan through the eBOSSS.

In his remarks, Mayor Tongson said “receiving the Certificate of Commendation from the Anti-Red Tape Authority is a huge honor for our city. It shows our hard work in making business processes transparent, easier, and more efficient.”

He said it was the dedication of many people that resulted in the success of the city’s eBOSS in compliance with the “Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.

“We have fully automated our business permitting and licensing processes, making life easier for everyone. All of these efforts are for the people of Himamaylan, ensuring that all Himamaylanons will receive the best services possible,” Tongson said. (AAL/Lljr/PIA6 Negros Occ.)
