HINGYON, Ifugao (PIA) — The Hingyon Fire Station in Ifugao finally has its own building.
Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Cordillera Assistant Regional Director for Operations, Fire Senior Superintendent Floyd T. Toyokan, and Mayor Florencio B. Nalula recently led the inauguration of the building located at Akili, Piwong, Hingyon.
Rev. Fr. Emilio Adawe, parish priest of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Mission Church, Hingyon, blessed the building.
Toyokan, who represented BFP-CAR Regional Director FSSUPT Robert M Pacis as the guest of honor, said this new infrastructure positions BFP Hingyon to effectively address challenges and ensure the safety and readiness of the community.
According to Toyokan, this is a result of collaboration and partnership, aimed at providing efficient protective services to the people of Hingyon and nearby areas.
The mayor expressed his gratitude to BFP Fire Chief Director Louie S. Puracan, local officials, and the community for their support in establishing the fire station. He highlighted the importance of unity and communal responsibility in maintaining the station’s operations and ensuring its sustainability.
The municipality received in December 2023 a state-of-the-art fire truck worth P14.5 million. This can carry 1,000 gallons and can discharge 3,000 liters per minute.
