IFSU ranks 2nd nationwide in global Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2024

LAMUT, Ifugao (PIA) –The Ifugao State University soars higher in global recognition emerging second in the top universities in the Philippines along with the University of the Philippines and De La Salle University in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2024.

Ateneo de Manila University is the top Philippine higher education institution that participated in the THE Impact ranking this year making it in the 200-300 global ranking.

This marks the first-ever participation of IFSU in the THE Impact Rankings, a global performance assessment that evaluates universities excelling across multiple United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

IFSU ranked first among  HEIs in the Cordillera and Northern Luzon. Globally, it falls within the 401-600 bracket.

“Yes, we are etching our legacy into the records of IFSU history as the University aced in the THE Impact Rankings, besting all other Higher Education Institutions (both public and private) in the countryside. We as one IFSU family stand proud as the Top 2 University in the country and 401-600th in the world. A historic achievement,” IFSU President Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon said.

The THE Impact Rankings aims to measure the broader impact of universities on society beyond traditional academic metrics, focusing on their contributions to social, economic, and environmental sustainability. It identifies and celebrates universities that demonstrate comprehensive excellence in contributing to global sustainable development.

THE Impact Rankings evaluated 2,152 universities from 125 countries/regions to produce the overall rankings, integrating scores across multiple SDGs to reflect overall performance and impact.

According to IFSU, the school’s  strongest performance was  in SDG 2 or Zero Hunger, SDG 5 or Gender Equality, SDG 16 or Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, and SDG 17 or Partnerships for the Goals.

This year, IFSU  also ranked  151-200 in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) Rankings: Global Top 300 Innovative Universities.

Meanwhile, IFSU achieved another milestone in its pursuit of quality and excellence in education. It was recently conferred the Philippine Quality Award (PQA) Level II – Proficiency in Quality Management under the 26th PQA Assessment Cycle.

The PQA is the highest level of national recognition for exemplary organizational performance in both the public and private sectors.  The PQA Level II recognition signifies proficiency in Quality Management, highlighting significant progress in establishing sound processes within the University.

“This recognition is a testament not only to the hard work, unity, and accomplishments of the IFSU community over the past four (4) years but also to our commitment to achieving organizational performance excellence based on the principles of Total Quality Management,” Codamon-Dugyon stated  in her social media account.
