Ifugao LGUs recognized for KALAHI CIDSS implementation

LAGAWE, Ifugao (PIA) — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Cordillera recently hosted the  Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) Program 2023 LGU Forum to recognize the efforts of the LGU partners in program implementation, and to share lessons learned and gained in the furtherance of the program.

In the event held in Baguio City, the local government units of Aguinaldo, Asipulo, Banaue, Kiangan, Mayoyao, and Tinoc  were  among those recognized as Key Performance Indicator Achievers for Women in Paid Labor under the National Community-Driven Development Project-Additional Funding (NCDDP-AF).

Hungduan and Lamut achieved 100 percent completion of sub-projects for NCDDP-AF Group 4 Phase 1, while Tinoc led in completing Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan-Indigenous Peoples-Community-Driven Development (PAMANA IP-CDD) Sub-projects for Budget Year 2023 and 100% liquidation for Group 1 Phase 2.

Hingyon topped in liquidation rate for Group 2 Phase 2, followed by Aguinaldo. Asipulo achieved full liquidation for the  Kapangyarihan at Kaunlaran sa Barangay Cash-For-Work (KKB-CFW) Batches 1 and  2.

Banaue excelled in Data Encoding for NCDDP-AF Phases 1 & 2, and Aguinaldo for NCDDP-AF Phases 1 & 2 and KKB-BP2 CDD.

Asipulo led in Finance Processes for 2023 Targets  in KKB-CFW and as Focal CDD Champion.

Lamut was recognized for incorporating CDD elements in local planning processes.

Meanwhile, participants from the six provinces in the region expressed support for the CDD Institutionalization Bill pending before the 19th Congress.  This supports the effectiveness of the CDD as a development approach that empowers communities by giving community members control over the development process, including decision-making and resource management.

The KALAHI-CIDSS program, focusing on the CDD approach, aims to combat poverty and provide social services, a vital strategy for the DSWD in social protection and poverty reduction. (JDP/FBR-PIA CAR, Ifugao)
