LAGAWE, Ifugao (PIA) — Local government units and nutrition workers in Ifugao continue to demonstrate exemplary commitment in improving the nutritional status in their respective areas.
The municipalities of Asipulo, Lamut, and Hungduan were awarded the Green Banner Seal of Compliance (GBSC) for 2022 during the Cordillera Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony (RNAC) held in Baguio City recently.
This award is given to LGUs that have an overall accomplishment rating of at least 85 percent on nutrition program implementation.
The GBSC awardees are eligible to compete for the Consistent Regional Outstanding Winner on Nutrition (CROWN) award at the national level if they maintain outstanding performance for three consecutive years.
The Alfonso Lista LGU also received the Quality Nutrition Program award for achieving and sustaining National Honor Awardee status. The Saluad Salun-at Council of the LGU remains steadfast in its commitment to providing continuous support for nutrition interventions aimed at reducing malnutrition within the municipality.

The Alfonso Lista LGU also received the Quality Nutrition Program award for achieving and sustaining National Honor Awardee status. The Saluad Salun-at Council of the LGU remains steadfast in its commitment to providing continuous support for nutrition interventions aimed at reducing malnutrition within the municipality.
Barangay Antipolo of Asipulo was also recognized as the Best Barangay Nutrition Committee (BNC). For 10 consecutive years, the BNC of Antipolo remained as the Best Performing BNC in the municipality and awarded the municipal localized Green Banner Award.
Asipulo Municipal Nutrition Action Officer (MNAO) Jimmy Taguilingon maintained his title as the Regional Outstanding MNAO for 2022. He was a finalist in the 2021 Search for the National Outstanding MNAO.
The provincial and all municipal LGUs were also acknowledged for achieving a stunting prevalence of below 10% among children aged 0-59 months in 2022.
Seven LGUs were awarded for the continuous decrease in stunting prevalence among 0-59 months children from 2020-2022. The LGUs namely: Alfonso Lista, Asipulo, Banaue, Hungduan, Kiangan, Lamut, and Tinoc.
Barangay Nutrition Scholar Bernadeth Cudiamat of Barangay Santo Domingo, Alfonso Lista, was also a finalist for the 2022 Regional Outstanding BNS.
RNAC keynote speaker Soledad Go, a civic leader, and a nutrition advocate, congratulated all awardees. She emphasized the importance of a sustained partnership to ensure proper nutrition accessibility for every Filipino, particularly children.
“Let us leverage our collective strengths, harness our passion, and channel our efforts toward ensuring that every Filipino especially our children, have access to proper nutrition. Each one of us plays a pivotal role in this noble pursuit,” Go said.
In his response message, Asipulo Mayor Archie Lee Quindo expressed gratitude to the regional council for commending the LGU of Asipulo for its accomplishments in the field of nutrition.
“We recognize the significance of nutrition in our daily lives, hence, we consider it a top priority in our governance,” said Quindo.
He said the awards they received were a result of the concerted efforts of all stakeholders involved and these inspire them to further their performance. (JDP/FBR-PIA CAR, Ifugao)
