LAGAWE, Ifugao (PIA) — The local government unit (LGU) of Alfonso Lista has implemented a price freeze in the municipality to protect consumers and maintain market stability.
Mayor Edralin Alipio issued Executive Order No. 112 for the price freeze on basic necessities and prime commodities after the Sangguniang Bayan declared the municipality under state of calamity due to the damages brought by typhoon Kristine.
“The prices of the abovementioned necessities shall remain at their prevailing rates as of the time of the declaration of the state of calamity in the municipality,” Alipio said.
The mayor explained the Municipal Local Price Coordinating Council (MLPCC) has recommended the implementation of a price freeze basic and prime necessities until further notice.
Basic necessities include but not limited to rice, corn, cooking oil, fresh milk, pork, milk, instant noodles, coffee, salt, laundry soap and other essential goods while prime commodities include flour, dried fish, cooking ingredients, condiments, batteries and other goods deemed essential to maintain daily living standards.
The MLPCC shall conduct regular and unannounced price monitoring in coordination with the Department of Trade and Industry and Department of Agriculture to ensure compliance with the executive order. (MBL, PIA CAR, Ifugao)
