Iligan barangay gets multi-purpose gym

ILIGAN CITY (PIA) — Barangay Buru-un here received a newly completed multipurpose gymnasium, providing residents a venue for community events and barangay programs.

Sigurado nga kini nga barangay adunay kasaligan ug hapsay nga espasyo nga magamit sa daghang katuigan,” said Iligan City Lone District Representative Celso Regencia during the turnover ceremony, March 3.

(This facility ensures that this barangay will have a reliable and well-organized space to be used for many years.)

Regencia stressed that the project is for the people and not driven by political interests. “Ang atong tumong mao ang pagserbisyo ug pagpalambo sa kinabuhi sa matag Iliganon, nga walay politisasyon sa mga inisyatiba nga para sa kaayohan sa publiko,” he said.

(Our goal is to serve and improve the lives of every Iliganon, without politicizing initiatives intended for the public good.)

Barangay Buru-un chairperson Nenet Paradel expressed her gratitude, emphasizing that the new gymnasium addresses the community’s need for a safe and accessible venue for gatherings and other barangay-led initiatives.

“Kini nga gymnasium usa ka dako nga tabang alang sa atong komunidad, maghatag kini og lugar diin kita makahiusa, makaselebrar, ug makasuporta sa usag-usa. Dako among pagpasalamat sa among mga lider nga nagtinguha nga kini matuman,” Paradel said.

(This gymnasium is a big help to our community. It will provide a space where we can come together, celebrate, and support one another. We are deeply thankful to our leaders who worked hard to make this possible.)

Residents welcomed the new facility and are eager to use it for various purposes, including social functions and disaster preparedness initiatives. (LELA/PIA-10/Lanao del Norte with reports from OCGR)
