A pre-marriage orientation and counseling session will be held February 5, followed by a Mass Wedding (Kasalan ng Bayan) at Robinsons Place Iligan, February 14. A Mobile Civil Registration event, February 20-21 will provide free late birth registration, transcriptions, and certified copies of civil documents, along with the “Problema sa Birth Certificate, Atong Sulbaron” program.
City Civil Registrar Yussif Don Justin Martil assured the public that their office is ready to assist individuals facing birth certificate issues, including those who have never been registered. A Civil Registry Mobile Outlet at Robinsons Iligan will allow the public to request PSA-issued birth, death, and marriage certificates, February 21.

For those who were not born in Iligan City but need to obtain a birth certificate, the CCRO will prepare the necessary documents and coordinate with the appropriate civil registry offices.

Meanwhile, Philippine Statistics Authority Lanao del Norte Chief Statistical Specialist Osler Mejares emphasized the importance of civil registration in ensuring legal identity and access to social services.
“These efforts reflect our commitment to making civil registration a meaningful service for all. As we continue to innovate and strengthen our system, let us keep in mind the three pillars that define this year’s theme. Our civil registration system must withstand challenges from natural disasters or pandemics and ensure the continuity of services,” he said.
He reported that, over the past year, PSA and local civil registrars facilitated the processing of 8,329 birth certificates, 1,054 marriage certificates, and 2,635 death certificates. (LELA/PIA-10/Lanao del Norte)
