ILIGAN CITY (PIA)–The city here lit up its giant Christmas tree at Rizal Park or Public Plaza in Barangay Poblacion, kicking off the Paskuhan (Christmas) Festival.
The city government expressed gratitude to the Iligan Visual Artists, whose contribution made the towering 40-foot Christmas tree a reality.
Mayor Frederick Siao emphasized that Christmas is not just about the holiday season but about Jesus.
“It’s not just a yuletide season; Christmas is all about Jesus. And as you go through the different activities this holiday, may you never forget the center of this occasion. Always put Him inside your heart, and may you never forget His great love for all of us,” he said.
Siao also called for the unity and collaboration of the residents, emphasizing the need to work together for the progress and prosperity of the city.
Furthermore, candidates from various city government departments displayed their own Christmas icons. A fireworks display also delighted the residents.
There are also various activities lined up for the Paskuhan Festival, like the Painting Exhibit, Sumbag-Gay, Hugyaw Ilaw, Drag Queen Race Competition, Paskuhan Concert, Carols of Hope, Kasadya sa Iligan Christmas Street Party, Christmas Holiday Fashion Show, Grand Chorale Competition, and more.
