VIGAN CITY, Ilocos Sur (PIA) – The provincial government, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), rolled out its sixth “One Ilocos Sur Job Fair and One-Stop-Shop” on Dec. 16, which offered a total of 1,432 local and overseas job vacancies.
Some 190 jobseekers have participated wherein 33 applicants were hired on the spot.
Nine government agencies such as the Department of Migrant Workers, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Philippine Statistics Authority, and Bureau of Fire Protection, among others, also offered their services at the one-stop-shop.
“Boosting economic development remains a key focus of the provincial government of Ilocos Sur. This goal is being achieved by providing employment opportunities for all and contributing to building an economically stable society,” said Gov. Jeremias Singson in his message.
The jobs fair was first held on Aug. 25, 2022, and has been conducted quarterly since then.
“We attribute the success of this job fair to our participating companies and agencies who share our vision to create more jobs and income-generating opportunities for everyone,” Singson said.
