LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte (PIA) – The province of Ilocos Norte has sustained its status of being peaceful and orderly as stated in the last quarter report of the Ilocos Norte Police Provincial Office (INPPO) presented during the Joint Peace and Order Council (PPOC) and Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) on Dec. 28.
From January to December this year, there were 744 total crime incidents, compared to the same period in 2022 which recorded 757 crime incidents.
In the implementation of provincial ordinances, a total of 3,222 individuals were apprehended for failure to wear helmet (2,686), failure to wear reflectorized vest (409), and driving under the influence of liquor (127).
Moreover, a total of 401 most wanted persons were arrested by INPPO. Of which, 1 most wanted person with reward, 75 most wanted persons without reward, and 325 unwanted persons are detained.

In its continuing campaign against illegal drugs, the llocos Norte cops strengthen its collaboration with the youth by involving them in their advocacy activities such as slogan and poster-making contest, mural painting contest, and fun runs.
Further, there are 34 police units, 20 municipal halls, 95 barangay halls, seven schools, five business establishments, and six Bureau of Fire Protection stations are declared drug-free workplaces.
This recognition also extended beyond offices as 330 households in the entire province were officially declared drug-free.
“Hindi naman talaga natin problema ang peace and order dito sa Ilocos Norte and so we look forward to maintaining this status,” said Gov. Matthew Marcos Manotoc during his opening remarks in the meeting. (JCR/MJTAB PIA Ilocos Norte)
