IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay (PIA)- The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) recently hosted Bagong Pilipinas town hall meeting and the Barangay Ease of Doing Business (EODB) orientation in Dapitan City to help eliminate red tape and foster a more efficient and transparent government.
ARTA Director-General Ernesto Perez emphasized that every Filipino should be treated with respect and importance when availing various government services.
“Under the ease of doing business law, everybody, no matter what status in life you are, you are to be considered a very important person.” Perez said.
The Secretary also highlighted the President’s directive, emphasizing the importance of providing efficient and high-quality services to all Filipinos, reflecting the administration’s commitment to enhancing public service across the nation.
“Our president’s mandate is to have an efficient and citizen-focused government service such as removing unnecessary requirements when securing permits or clearances,” Perez added.
The town hall meeting brought together local government officials, business owners, and residents for a discussion on the current state of public service delivery.
ARTA personnel presented updates on initiatives aimed at reducing bureaucratic red tape, including an overview of the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018 or the Republic Act No. 11032).
The agency also emphasized the pivotal role of barangays as frontliners in the success of Ease of Doing Business initiatives. Equipping barangays with the necessary knowledge and tools to streamline processes will significantly drive progress towards fostering a more efficient and business-friendly environment.

Mayor Seth Frederick Jalosjos stressed the advantages of digitizing the process of acquiring a business permit in the city, expediting the application process and catalyzing business growth and development in Dapitan City.
“By simplifying and accelerating the registration and compliance processes for new businesses, we are making it easier for the entrepreneurs to establish and grow their enterprises within our city,” Jolosjos said.
