QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) will take center stage in the 12th installment of the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at the Dimalupig Hall, AFP Commissioned Officers’ Country in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
AFP Spokesperson Colonel Francel Margareth Padilla PA (GSC) will discuss AFP’s accomplishments on internal security operations and its shift to focusing on territorial defense operations adhering to its mandate to protect the people and the state.
With the mission to protect the state’s sovereignty and integrity of the national territory, the AFP is responsible for defending the Philippines against foreign and domestic threats.
Aside from protecting the people and the state, the Armed Forces of the Philippines also support humanitarian assistance and disaster response, ensuring the safety and well-being of our fellow Filipinos.
Recently the AFP extended its full support to the victims of Typhoon Carina by providing search, rescue, and retrieval operations and disaster response efforts.
Likewise, Col Padilla will talk about the AFP’s bilateral and multilateral activities that contribute to the AFP’s capability development to perform its mission of protecting the country’s sovereignty and national territory.
