ILOILO CITY — The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) has intensified its campaign on sustaining the peace and order situation in the province.
In its recent report, the police office shared its accomplishments on law enforcement and anti-criminality operations focused on illegal drugs, wanted persons, illegal gambling, loose firearms, illegal fishing and illegal quarry.
Some 15 anti-illegal drugs operations were recorded in the province for the period June 1-30, 2024.
According to IPPO, this resulted in the arrest of 51 drug traffickers, including six high-value individuals.
Likewise, a total of 1,366.597 grams of illegal drugs (shabu) with an estimated standard drug price of Php 9,292,858.92 was confiscated.
The dedicated tracker teams, who served warrants of arrest during 111 manhunt operations, had apprehended 113 fugitives, of whom 30 were classified as most wanted persons.
Meanwhile, a total of 15 positive illegal gambling operations resulted in the arrest of 26 individuals.
Sustained crackdown of loose firearms yielded a sum of 56 loose firearms, of which 17 were confiscated from police operations, 31 were surrendered, and eight were temporarily deposited for safekeeping.
Out of 50 anti-illegal fishing operations, 138 illegal fishers were nabbed and 60 fishing boats were impounded.
Further, the IPPO strictly enforced the provincial ordinance against illegal quarrying. To note, 39 anti-illegal quarry operations were conducted during the month of June, which led to the apprehension of 41 drivers. Their delivery trucks were also impounded.
IPPO director PCol. Bayani Razalan expressed gratitude for the community’s support and reiterated the commitment to maintaining safety, security, and progress in Iloilo.
