Isabela bags 8th Seal of Good Local Governance award

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) – The Provincial Government of Isabela has once again awarded the prestigious Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) for the eighth consecutive year.

The award was conferred by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) during a ceremony at The Tent City of the Manila Hotel on December 9, 2024.

DILG Secretary Juanito Victor Remulla personally handed the award to Isabela Vice Governor Faustino G. Dy III, accompanied by Provincial Administrator Atty. Noel Manuel R. Lopez.

Isabela has maintained its SGLG status since 2015, and the latest recognition extends through 2022 and up to the current year.

“This continued distinction reflects the province’s steadfast commitment to excellence in local governance, emphasizing the effective implementation of transformative programs and adherence to high standards of public accountability that directly benefit its constituents,” Dy said.

In addition to the provincial government’s achievement, the cities of Cauayan, Ilagan, and Santiago, along with 27 out of the province’s 34 municipalities, also received the SGLG award.

The widespread recognition highlights a collective, province-wide dedication to exemplary governance under the guidance of the DILG.

On a national level, the DILG recognized 714 Local Government Units (LGUs) in 2024—the highest number of awardees in the history of the SGLG. Of the 1,715 LGUs assessed, this year’s awardees included 41 provinces, 96 cities, and 577 municipalities. (OTB/MGE/PIA Isabela)
