ISABELA CITY (PIA) – The Sangguniang Panlungsod of Isabela City recently passed a resolution commending the remarkable efforts of the Barangay Information Officers Network (BION) from the city’s 45 barangays, recognizing them as catalysts for a well-informed and empowered Isabeleños.
Resolution No. 24-7037, recognizes the unwavering commitment and outstanding performance of BION members who have dedicated themselves to fostering transparency, accountability, and an informed citizenry within their communities.
The resolution further expresses widespread appreciation for the critical role that BION plays in bridging the government and the people.
“The Barangay Information Officers’ Network (BION) has emerged as a vital force in disseminating accurate and timely information to the public. The BION members have consistently demonstrated exemplary dedication and commitment to their roles as information officers. Through their tireless efforts, BION has significantly contributed to the empowerment of the Isabela City community by fostering an informed citizenry. It is imperative to recognize and commend the invaluable contributions of BION members to the city’s development and progress,” the resolution stated.

During the recently conducted Regional Outstanding Communicators Awards (ROCA) hosted by LGU Isabela City, local leaders highlighted BION members as repositories of knowledge. They also lead initiatives such as information caravans that spread awareness about various government programs and services. Additionally, BION members serve as focal persons for the Freedom of Information (FOI) in their respective barangays.
