Isabela farmer cooperatives receive livelihood assistance

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) – Five agricultural cooperatives and four farmer associations in Isabela recently received livelihood assistance from the provincial government to help boost agricultural productivity in the province.

The provincial government allocated P2.7 million under the Isabela Recovery Initiatives to Support Enterprises (I-RISE) program, a support mechanism aimed at assisting local farmers, who are the primary economic drivers of the province.

Governor Rodolfo T. Albano III emphasized that the I-RISE program is a multi-sectoral approach designed to sustain and further improve agricultural production in Isabela.

“As part of the project’s concept, we will purchase some of the local products from the cooperatives and associations and distribute them to the beneficiaries of the provincial government’s social service programs,” he said.

The distribution of the assistance was held at the Governor’s Office and was led by officials from the Provincial Cooperatives and Livelihood Enterprise Development Office.

The recipients of the assistance were the Isabela United Farmers and Processors Agricultural Cooperative, Isabela Seeds and Seedlings Farmers Association, Tumauini High-Value Commercial Crops Agricultural Cooperative, Epiphany Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Isabela High-Value Crops Agricultural Cooperative, Flow of Pariir Agricultural Cooperative, Simanu Norte San Pablo Workers Association, Dilakit Fisherfolks Association, and Ditarum Lady Farmers Association.

The beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Governor Albano and Vice Governor Faustino G. Dy III for their continued support, acknowledging that the I-RISE Program has been key in revitalizing their operations. (OTB/MGE/PIA Isabela)
