Isabela LGUs income classifications upgraded

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) – The income classification of several Local Government Units (LGUs) of Isabela province were upgraded following the release of the Department of Finance order on the new income classification of provinces, cities, and municipalities.

Effective January 1, 2025, several LGUs in the province were elevated to higher income classifications, highlighting the province’s progress in fiscal management and local development.

The province of Isabela maintained its classification as a first-class province, reflecting its sustained economic strength and leadership.

The Cities of Ilagan and Santiago hold first-class city status, paving their roles as the regional economic leaders while Cauayan City has been elevated to second-class city status.

Additionally, 24 municipalities are now classified as first-class LGUs that include Alicia, Cabagan, Dinapigue, Echague, Jones, Palanan, Roxas, San Mariano, San Mateo, Tumauini, Luna, Delfin Albano, Mallig, Naguilian, Quezon, Quirino, Reina Mercedes; Angadanan, Aurora, Cabatuan, Cordon, Divilacan, Ramon, and San Pablo.

The municipalities of Benito Soliven, Gamu, San Guillermo, San Manuel, Maconacon, and San Agustin have advanced to second class.

Meanwhile, the municipalities of San Isidro, Burgos, Santa Maria, and Santo Tomas have elevated into the third class. (OTB/MGE/PIA Isabela, with Reports from Isabela PIO)
