BAGUIO CITY (PIA) — The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP), in partnership with the City Government of Baguio, deployed a joint task group to help in ensuring peace and order as well as to deliver community relations service to the different city barangays.
The official send-off ceremony of the Joint Task Group (JTG) Baguio was held at the City Hall grounds on November 20 in the presence of Mayor Benjamin Magalong, P/BGen. Jacob Macabali of the Area Police Command – Northern Luzon, and Philippine Air Force Northern Luzon Commander LTGen. Fernyl Buca.
The JTF Baguio JTG headed by Col. Virgilio Noora is composed of 144- strong men and women who recently finished a community relations service training conducted by the Police Regional Office – Cordillera.

Mayor Magalong accepted the deployment of JTF Baguio and expressed gratitude to its members for their commitment to serve the city of Baguio and its people.
“Baguio City deserves nothing but the best in terms of security and stability. The Joint Task Group Baguio is not only tasked with maintaining law and order but also with actively engaging with our community members. Through dialogue, understanding, and cooperation, we can build a safer, more resilient city for everyone”, Magalong said.
“Your commitment to the welfare of Baguio City is commendable, and I believe that the synergy between the AFP and PNP will create a formidable force for the betterment of our city, ” he said.
The PNP and the AFP also expressed gratitude to the government of Baguio for the partnership in peace building efforts and delivery of development programs and initiatives.
“The establishment of the Joint Task Group Baguio proves that local authorities led by our mayor, Hon. Benjamin Magalong, is with us in our goal to achieve two things—Pagkakaisa and Kapayapaan,” Buca said.
Macabali said the collective effort will be the main cornerstone in achieving a peaceful and harmonious nation.

“Today, we are glad that the AFP and the PNP have come up with a trained composite team who will be deployed for future joint peace and development operations here in our beloved Baguio City. As we commit our pledge to enjoin the community, the stakeholders and other government offices, to be with us with this endeavor. Our collective effort will be our main cornerstone in achieving a peaceful and harmonious nation”;
