QUEZON CITY, (PIA) –The Armed Forces of the Philippines’ (AFP) Joint Task Force National Capital Region (JTF NCR) conducted a personnel skills enhances training on defense without using firearms in line with the CSAFP Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr’s guidance.
According to the JTF NCR, since July of this year they have been continuously training its soldiers on the different martial arts discipline, that includes hybrid martial arts street-combat style fighting and the indigenous Philippine martial arts sport, “Arnis”.
The activity conducted during athletic periods and lull times, aims to boost the fighting skills and enhance the capability of our troops in defending the NCR for any eventuality even without the use of firearms.
While modernization efforts in terms of equipment and processes are underway, JTF NCR troops focus on developing and harnessing individual-soldier warfighting skills to readily and fully perform mandated duties and functions.
The JTF NCR conducts Security and Stability Operations (SASO) as well as Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) to protect the people and secure the metropolis. (jtf ncr/pia-ncr)
