JTF NCR supports peaceful, secure elections

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — The Joint Task Force National Capital Region (JTF NCR) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines assures a peaceful and secure Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) on October 30, 2023.

In collaboration with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), the JTF NCR will provide security operations support for the peaceful conduct of the upcoming elections.

Around 500 military personnel were committed to supporting the PNP law enforcement operations to deter possible election-related violations for the safety of the public.

Military troops will reinforce police personnel at checkpoints in Metro Manila which started on August 28 until November 29, 2023, by virtue of the Comelec Resolution No. 10918, promulgated last May 27, 2023.

Meanwhile, the JTF NCR through the Naval Task Group-NCR and Ground Task Group-NCR conducted a series of joint AFP-PNP checkpoint operations in different areas, including: United Avenue Paco, Manila; Shaw Boulevard Brgy. Kapitolyo, Pasig City; and G. Araneta, San Juan City in coordination with the Department of Public Order and Safety of the City Government.

Likewise, the 11th Civil Military Operations Battalion under also the supervision of the JTF NCR, provided security assistance during the filling of the candidacy at the Amoranto Sports Complex, Quezon City. (JTF NCR/PIA-NCR)
