QUEZON CITY (PIA) — A total of 140,000 public school students under the K-12 program in the City of Pasig will receive communications allowance or internet connectivity allowance for the school year 2024-2025.
This, after Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto announced on Tuesday that the City’s Local School Board approved the measure providing each student communications allowance worth P1,500.
The one-time allowance will aid students in their studies, especially during hybrid learning modality and online classes.
According to the local government, the 140,000-student total is based on the final list of enrollees under the Department of Education (DepEd) Pasig City schools division.
The distribution will start ten (10) days after the opening of classes.
Last school year, the local government also distributed a one-time transportation allowance to K-12 students worth P1,500. (PIA-NCR)
