TABUK CITY, Kalinga (PIA) — The Provincial Project Monitoring Committee (PPMC) visited and inspected several ongoing projects being implemented by different government agencies and institutions in the city on January 30, 2025, to ensure proper implementation.
The monitored projects include the construction of the Lacnog Bridge along the Nambaran-Isabela Road worth P47,810,830.71, and two projects for the construction of the Gabriela Mija Kim Medical Center in Agbannawag, Tabuk City, worth around P14 million each. Both projects are being implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Lower Kalinga District Engineering Office.
Also monitored is the completion of the Technology and Innovation park of the Kalinga State University with a project cost of P12,617,959.60.
Among the issues noted by the monitoring team are delays in implementation particularly with the Lacnog Bridge and Gabriela Mija Kim Medical Center projects.
“We will have to meet preferably with all the persons involved such as the DPWH as the implementing agency, members of the PPMC, Provincial Engineering Office, PPDO, and the project engineers tapnu ma-thresh out dagiyay issues nga nakita tayo and to make recommendations,” said Department of the Interior and Local Government-Kalinga Provincial Director Anthony Manolo Ballug, the PPMC chairperson.
Monitoring activities are regularly conducted by the PPMC to assess the implementation of projects and verify reports of implementing agencies.
