Kalinga Treasures Fair records P22.8-M in sales

TABUK CITY, Kalinga (PIA) — This year’s Kalinga Treasures Fair generated P22,893,171 in sales, surpassing the P21.3 million recorded in 2024, according to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Kalinga.

The fair held from February  7 to 16, 2025 as part of the 6th Bodong Festival, featured exhibitors from various industries including those in wearables and fashion accessories, furniture and furnishings, processed food, ornamental plants, gifts and home decor, and DTI-assisted micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Furniture and furnishings led in sales generating P5,572,620, followed by wearables and fashion accessories  which recorded P3,901,055 in both cash and book orders.

Sales from processed food reached P1,396,457 while gifts and home decor brought in P1,054,966.

Ornamental plants contributed P480,808 while DTI programs such as the Youth Entrepreneurship Program or YEP, Negosyo Center, Kapatid Mentor ME, CARP  and Creative Pavilion recorded P137,265 in cash sales.

The real estate sector dominated the booked orders segment accounting for P10,350,000 in total sales.

DTI–Kalinga said the fair not only provided a platform for MSMEs to showcase their products but also facilitated business-to-business (B2B) engagements, which allow exhibitors to secure orders beyond the event.

To further strengthen the local MSME ecosystem in the province,  DTII  will continue to provide training, mentorship, and market linkages for local MSMEs. It also d committed to organize more trade fairs, business development programs, and market exposure opportunities. (JDP/RGA-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
