KaPEACEtahan Fair 2024 highlights peace and progress at Trinoma Mall

QUEZON CITY (PIA) — The Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU) has once again brought the annual KaPEACEtahan Fair to life at the Trinoma Mall’s Activity Center in Quezon City, in celebration of the 20th National Peace Consciousness Month.

This year’s fair, which runs from September 17 to 19, offers the public an opportunity to engage with grassroots peace efforts and the transformative power of development in formerly conflict-affected communities.

The fair kicked off with an opening ceremony led by OPAPRU Senior Undersecretary Isidro L. Purisima, representing Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr.

It features a variety of booths displaying locally made products from peace partner communities, including those from regions such as the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), Bicol, and Agusan del Norte.

These products serve as symbols of peace and prosperity, showcasing the positive changes that peace building initiatives have brought to these areas.

KaPEACEtahan is not only happening at Trinoma but is also being hosted in schools across several provinces, including Negros Occidental, Aklan, Basilan, and others.

This initiative emphasizes the essential roles that peace champions and change agents play in transforming conflict-affected communities into vibrant centers of development.

As the event concludes today, September 19, visitors are encouraged to experience the various exhibits and gain insight into the peace and development efforts spearheaded by OPAPRU, highlighting the success stories of communities that have embraced peace and prosperity. (AVS/PIA-NCR)
