MANILA, (PIA) — In a heartwarming celebration of love and commitment, 39 couples exchanged vows during the Kasalang Bayan held on June 24, as part of the 17th Navotas Cityhood Anniversary festivities.
Among the couples were long-time partners Cirilo Arsenio, Jr. and Anabel Alcantara, who have shared their lives together for 27 years.
In his speech, Mayor John Rey Tiangco emphasized the importance of marriage in building strong families and communities.

“Although some of you have been together for several years, and perhaps some of you already have children, keep in mind and take to heart the value of the sacrament of marriage,” he said.
“Marriage strengthens your relationship. It binds your union and enables you to overcome any trials you might face together in the future,” he added.
Tiangco also assured the couples of the city government’s assistance and support, noting that all city projects and programs are geared towards improving the life of every Navoteño family.
He also encouraged the newlyweds to embrace their role in shaping the city’s future.
“Teach your children self-discipline, love for others, and respect for those around them. What you teach them and what they see in you will shape their character. So be a model and inspiration to your children. They are the next leaders of our city,” he said. (JCO/PIA-NCR)
