Kasibu transport men get P1.1M aid from DOLE

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) – –  The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) handed financial assistance to the transport sector in Kasibu town to cushion the impact of the national government’s Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP).

DOLE Provincial Director Elizabeth Martinez said the P1.1 million financial assistance was given to 38 jeepney drivers, operators and allied workers of Kasibu in the form of  EnTSUPERneur Kabuhayan Starter Kits.

She said the funding assistance will provide the beneficiaries with Kabuhayan Starter Kits to roll out their various livelihood projects such as Auto Repair Shop, Carpentry, Change Oil Services, Internet Café, Poultry Production, Food Vending, Rice Retailing, Sari-Sari Store with Bigasan, Snack and Frozen Foods Vending, Snack Vending and Welding & Vulcanizing Services.

Martinez said the EnTSUPERneur program aims to provide alternative sources of income for public transport drivers and operators affected by the PUV Modernization Program of the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Martinez said the turn-over of the financial assistance was attended by Kasibu Municipal Treasurer Roger Cumila and DOLE workers headed by Assistant Regional Director Elpidio Atal,Jr.. (BME/PIA NVizcaya)
