KBP features TESDA-NCR’s role in empowering PH workforce

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority – National Capital Region (TESDA-NCR) will highlight its innovative efforts to empower Filipinos through skill development and boost employment opportunities in Metro Manila during Tuesday’s Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas media forum at the Philippine Information Agency (PIA).

TESDA-NCR Assistant Regional Director Cariza Dacuma will lead the discussion, and present an overview of the agency’s strategic programs and services created to suit the workforce’s evolving demands. The weekly forum will be held at the PIA Auditorium, Visayas Avenue, Quezon City on December 17, at 9 a.m. It is being broadcast over the official social media pages of PIA and PIA-National Capital Region.

Highlights include TESDA-NCR’s efforts to develop benchmark standards that ensure competence and quality among skilled personnel in various industries.

The agency will also announce its certification systems aimed at improving processes for institutions that cater to middle-level workforce development.

Also, TESDA-NCR will enumerate some of its grants being offered to support technical education and training programs that aim to upskill individuals and prepare them for future labor market demands.

Moreover, the agency will discuss its trainer development programs that provide educators and trainers with the resources they need to conduct top-notch technical education.

During the discussion, Director Dacuma will also delve into the core services offered by TESDA-NCR, emphasizing efforts that generate opportunities for Filipinos, particularly in Metro Manila. 

Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas, organized by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) through the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), gives a platform for the delivery of timely, relevant, and accurate information about government programs and services to grassroots communities across the country.
