SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union (PIA) – Six outstanding personnel of the La Union Police Provincial Office (LUPPO) were honored with the Medalya ng Papuri during the 31st Philippine National Police (PNP) Ethics Day celebration held at Camp Diego Silang, Carlatan, on Jan. 6.
The Medalya ng Papuri is awarded to police officers who make significant contributions to maintaining peace and order, fostering trust with the community, and demonstrating exceptional service in their respective roles.
The annual celebration emphasizes the PNP’s commitment to integrity, professionalism, and public trust.
LUPPO Provincial Director, PCOL Heryl Bruno led the awarding ceremony, recognizing officers who demonstrate exemplary dedication to duty, proactive community engagement, and adherence to the PNP’s ethical standards.
The awardees are:
- PMAJ Bernabe Gallardo, San Juan Police Station
- Patrolman Ronyson Ursua, San Juan Police Station
- Patrolman Celso Santiago, San Juan Police Station
- PLT Armando Ordoñez, 1st La Union Provincial Mobile Force Company (LUPMFC)
- PSSg Antonio Aguila III, 1st LUPMFC
- PCpl Tonee Ross Ramirez, Provincial Anti-Robbery and Motor Vehicle Unit (PARMU)-Finance
The awardees exhibited leadership and compassion through their services, including organizing a gift-giving and feeding program that brought joy, nourishment, and support to children in need within the province last year.
This initiative not only addressed immediate needs but also fostered a sense of hope and care within La Union communities.
In addition, the awardees promoted health and wellness programs, organized outreach efforts for underprivileged families, and built stronger ties between law enforcement and the local community.
One of the awardees, PMAJ Bernabe Gallardo, expressed his gratitude and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the public with integrity.
“This recognition inspires me to continue working with integrity and dedication. It’s not just an honor for me, but also a challenge to keep striving for excellence in everything I do for the people we serve,” he shared.
Gallardo was recognized for his successful arrest of a wanted individual charged with attempted murder.
His dedication to law enforcement and commitment to public safety demonstrate the values of accountability and justice within the police force.
PCOL Bruno also underscored the importance of PNP Ethics Day as a platform to reinforce ethical conduct among police personnel.
“Today’s celebration is a reminder of our unwavering commitment to serve with integrity and to be a shining example of good governance,” Bruno said.
The event also reflected LUPPO’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of service and foster stronger ties with the community.
