‘Lab for All’ brings free medical, social services to Quezon City

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — The Philippine government’s “Lab for All” initiative provided free medical services and assistance to over 1,500 indigent residents of Quezon City on Tuesday.

The one-day event, held at Risen Garden on the grounds of Quezon City Hall, featured pop-up booths from various government agencies and organizations offering a range of free services, including X-rays, laboratory tests, medical consultations, and eye checkups.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) also conducted a cash payout, providing 2,000 pesos (approximately $35 USD) in financial assistance to each of the 1,500 beneficiaries.

Lab for All” is a project spearheaded by First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos to make quality healthcare services accessible to all Filipinos through collaborative efforts with different government agencies.

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, and Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos were among the officials in attendance, along with representatives from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).

This is a testament to the government’s commitment to providing affordable and quality healthcare for the people,” said Mayor Belmonte. “Events like ‘Lab for All’ bring essential services directly to those who need it most.”
