Lalamove brings care to elders by allowing users to donate to seniors NGO

MANILA, (PIA) — Lalamove, the leading on-demand delivery platform in the Philippines, has launched its latest initiative, Deliver Care: ElderCare on the MOVE, aimed at supporting elderly communities across the country.

The program partners with the Coalition of Services of the Elderly Inc. (COSE) to enhance the well-being of seniors in 25 provinces and 82 cities nationwide.

Through this initiative, Lalamove users can donate their accumulated LalaPoints—loyalty points earned with each completed order—to COSE.

Each donation of 420 or 1,230 LalaPoints translates to a contribution of P20 or P50, which supports COSE’s community-based programs, including health care, residential care, and age-friendly livelihoods.

COSE serves just a fraction of the over 9 million senior citizens in the Philippines, and by 2050, the global aging population is projected to reach 1.5 billion,” said Djon Nacario, Managing Director of Lalamove Philippines. “With ElderCare on the MOVE, we utilize our rewards program to deliver meaningful support directly to the communities of lolos and lolas, ensuring they have access to quality care and social support.”

Emily Beridico, Executive Director of COSE, expressed gratitude for the partnership, stating, “This initiative reminds us that older persons are deeply cared for and remain a valued part of our community. It enables us to continue providing essential care to those we serve.”

In line with Lalamove’s vision of empowering local communities, this initiative demonstrates how small actions can create lasting impacts. Users can easily contribute to the cause by following a few simple steps to join the Lalamove Rewards program.

To donate LalaPoints, users need to:

  • Create or log into their Lalamove account and click ‘Rewards’ in the side menu.
  • Accept the Terms and Conditions and click ‘Join Now’ to register as a Lalamove Rewards member for free.
  • Place orders to earn LalaPoints and make donations to COSE.
  • Click ‘Claim’ to confirm their donation.

New customers must first register as Lalamove users with their mobile phone number before joining the Rewards program.

Founded in Hong Kong in 2013, Lalamove aims to empower communities by making delivery fast, simple, and affordable. With a fleet of delivery vehicles operated by professional drivers, Lalamove connects people and goods across 13 markets in Asia, Latin America, and Europe, the Middle East and Africa, bringing essential benefits to local communities.

On the other hand, COSE is a non-government organization (NGO) in the Philippines that has been working with older persons since 1989. Its focus is on forming and strengthening Older Persons’ Organizations (OPOs), advocacy, and building partnerships.

The group also promotes community-based programs for older individuals, including healthcare, residential care facilities, age-friendly livelihoods, and inclusive disaster risk reduction and management. It also aims to address the challenges faced by older persons during humanitarian crises and emergencies, in collaboration with other humanitarian organizations.(JCO/PIA-NCR)
