Landbank inaugurates country’s first ‘phygital’ branch

MISAMIS ORIENTAL (PIA) – The Landbank of the Philippines inaugurated the country’s first-ever “phygital” branch in Cagayan de Oro City on December 12.

This groundbreaking branch concept combines the strengths of traditional banking, known for its reliability and personalized service, with the speed, accessibility, and efficiency of digital technology.

“This is a milestone for Landbank, as we take a bold step forward in redefining banking for our clients with this inauguration. This digital branch reflects our commitment to elevating the banking experience by blending reliable, traditional service with the convenience of digital technology,” said Landbank President and CEO Lynette Ortiz.

She emphasized that the Masterson digital branch demonstrates Landbank’s dedication to making banking more accessible, innovative, and customer-friendly. The branch features an exciting fusion of physical and digital services, where cutting-edge technology meets the warm, personalized service the bank is known for.

The phygital branch offers self-service machines such as Automated Teller Machines (ATM) and Cash Deposit Machines (CDM), enabling clients to conduct transactions using card-based, cardless, or biometric options.

In addition, the branch introduced the Landbank Easy Access (LEA) system, which streamlines queuing and eliminates the fill-out forms. Opening a bank account has also become more efficient with the Landbank Digital Online Banking System.

Misamis Oriental Provincial Board Member Gerardo Sabal III commended Landbank and expressed gratitude for its ongoing support of the province through various programs that drive development.

“Landbank has exceeded our expectations in supporting the province of Misamis Oriental. We have taken loans in the past to achieve our dream of opening and maintaining roads in the province. When we took over, there were fewer developed roads. With Landbank’s assistance, we secured loans for heavy equipment. Over the last 12 years, we have opened more than 2,000 kilometers of provincial and municipal roads,” Sabal said.

With these innovations, Landbank aims to enhance digital services, making banking more convenient and efficient. (JAKA/PIA-10)
