LAGAWE, Ifugao (PIA) — The local government unit (LGU) of Lagawe recently conducted its annual “Pamaskong Handog” serving more than a hundred residents of barangay Luta.
The Pamaskong Handog is a yearly activity of the municipal government wherein a barangay is identified as the beneficiary.
LGU Lagawe Human Resource Management Officer (HRMO) Giselle Kalaw-Luglug shared that this year’s “Pamaskong Handog” was held at the Luta Elementary School wherein food packs were given to 75 households and school supplies were given to 43 recipients consisting of early learners and pupils from Grades 1 to 6.
Personnel of the Municipal Health Office also conducted a medical consultation for the health needs of the community.
The funds for the activity came from the municipal government, LGU officials and employees, Madhu ad Lagawe trade fair and the office of the Provincial Sangguniang Kabataan Federation.
Meanwhile, LGU Lagawe led by Mayor Martin Habawel, Jr. launched the town’s “Adopt a Star Project,” which aims to install multi-colored Christmas lanterns along the national highway starting from the welcome arc at barangay Dugong to the Department of Public Works and Highways in Poblacion North.
These lanterns express faith and hope and also symbolize the triumph of light over darkness and goodwill during Christmas season, and in welcoming 2025. The LGU thanked all the kind-hearted donors that led to the success of the project. (MBL-PIA CAR, Ifugao)
