SAN ANTONIO, Zambales (PIA) – The local government of San Antonio received various medical equipment from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
These equipment amounting to P1.7 million, were funded under the FY 2022 Local Government Support Fund-Financial Assistance to Local Government Unit (LGSF-FALGU).
These include 12 channels of electrocardiogram (ECG), otoscope, collapsible ambulance stretcher, and fully automated chemistry analyzer with reagent, which will be used by the town’s rural health unit (RHU) to enhance residents’ lives through diagnosis, prevention, rehabilitation, and treatment.
DILG Zambales Project Evaluation Officer I Bryan B. Allejos said that the procurement of these various medical laboratory equipment is vital to the operation of the RHU in strengthening the fundamentals of its health system.
“The availability of these various medical laboratory equipment will help the community doctors and health professionals provide quality and effective treatment for different clinical flags experienced by residents who cannot afford private laboratories”, he said.
Allejos added that this will also allow the RHU to promptly address major and minor concerns and provide initial care to patients.
Meanwhile, LGU San Antonio Information Officer Engr. Edmund B. Sabio expressed his thanks to the DILG and said that the medical equipment will be utilized to serve and assist more residents from San Antonio and its nearby towns. (MJSC/RGP-PIA 3)
