LGUs -Phil. Army forge partnership deal for peace and development

BONTOC, Mountain Province(PIA)–The provincial government  with the local governments unit of Sadanga and Barlig signed a Memorandum of Partnership Agreement (MOPA) with the Philippine Army through its 702 Infantry Battalion and 51st Engineering Brigade   for peace and development.

Signatories to the MOPA   forged on January 6, 2023  at the Provincial quadrangle  are  Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan Jr.,  Barlig Mayor Clark C. Ngaya and Sadanga Mayor Adolf F. Ganggangan and  PA’s  702 IB Commander, Brigadier General  Krishnamurti A. Mortela and 51st EB Acting Brigade Commander Colonel Jose Eduardo F. Liboon.

The partnership agreement contains   the collaborative efforts of the  LGUs and the   Army to strengthen the implementation of infrastructure projects in support to the development  programs under Executive Order No. 70 or the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict.  It aims to win peace over the communist ideology and to sustain   peace and order in  the province which will help in its socio-economic growth.

In their respective messages, Mortela and Liboon assured the support of the Phil.   Army to the municipalities for  the attainment of peace and development in the areas.

Mayors  Ngaya and Ganggangan also expressed commitment and gratitude to their partner agencies.   Ganggangan said   the agreement would be most beneficial to  the construction and completion of the road projects in the barangays of Betwagan and Anabel.

Ngaya, on the other hand, said that peace  is evident in Barlig  and that they    wholeheartedly support the   program.  The municipality  looks forward for the opening of the   Chupac-Kaleo Road access   thru this partnership.(JDP/CVBT- PIA CAR, Mt. Province) .
