Lingkod Pag-IBIG On Wheels: Bringing essential services closer to La Union residents

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union (PIA) – In an effort to make essential services more accessible to residents, the Lingkod Pag-IBIG On Wheels (LPOW) is set to roll out across La Union throughout January 2025, bringing vital Pag-IBIG Fund services directly to communities, including those in remote areas.

The mobile initiative, launched by the Pag-IBIG Fund, aims to reduce the barriers of time and distance by delivering programs and services closer to its members and employers.

Starting its journey in San Fernando City from Jan. 2 to 4, the mobile unit will travel to all the 20 city/municipalities of La Union, ensuring that even residents in distant areas can benefit from its services.

The first leg in San Fernando City successfully catered to 255 members who availed themselves of multiple services.

LPOW offers an array of essential transactions, including:

  • Savings and Membership Record Updates
  • Applications for Multi-Purpose Loans (MPL)
  • Provident Benefit Claims
  • Issuance of Loyalty Card Plus

Additionally, members can inquire about housing loan programs, including affordable financing options and application requirements. Other topics such as savings programs and employer contributions are also covered during consultations.

Community voice

Editha Laroya, a Pag-IBIG Fund member, shared her experience with the program where it has helped her through the agency’s door-to-door services.

“With Lingkod Pag-IBIG On Wheels, I was able to update my savings record and apply for a loan without having to travel far. It’s a very efficient service, and I hope more people take advantage of it,” Laroya stated.

According to Pag-IBIG Fund La Union Branch Head Rachael Gallano, the LPOW initiative is part of the agency’s dedication to improving accessibility.

“Our mobile unit travels across the country, and for January, it will focus on serving the entire province of La Union. We encourage all members and employers to take advantage of this opportunity,” Gallano said.

Stay connected and updated

Residents are encouraged to prepare the necessary documents and visit the designated LPOW stops in their area. For updates and the full schedule, follow the official Pag-IBIG Fund La Union social media accounts or contact their local office.

Introduced in 2021, LPOW brings Pag-IBIG Fund’s services directly to communities, especially in underserved areas.

This initiative aligns with the agency’s mission to provide accessible, efficient, and member-focused services nationwide, using a mobile office to save time and resources while fostering inclusive growth.

With Lingkod Pag-IBIG On Wheels, essential services are now within reach, helping build stronger and more connected communities across La Union. (AMB/CCMT/KJCR, PIA La Union)
