CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) – Some 21 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from Isabela have joined the roadshow conducted by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPhil) in Cauayan City recently.
Six of the local entrepreneurs have availed of the on-the-spot trademark registration for their products.
Supervising Trade and Industry Development Specialist Mary Dumpit said the roadshow aims to bring essential services closer to the MSMEs in the province.
Dumpit said the event has provided the entrepreneurs with direct access to the services offered, such as intellectual property registration and food regulatory certifications, which are crucial for growth and market competitiveness.
She said the success of the roadshow affirmed the commitment of DTI and IPOPhil to empower MSMEs by providing them with the necessary tools and knowledge to thrive in today’s competitive environment.
“The roadshow is part of DTI’s broader efforts to support local businesses, fostering innovation and ensuring that MSMEs have access to the resources they need to grow and succeed,” she said.
Meanwhile, Mark Vincent Dy from the Isabela State University discussed intellectual property rights, food safety regulations, and fabrication laboratory services for product development.
He said MSMEs need to be equipped with the knowledge to navigate the challenges of the modern business landscape. (OTB/MGE/PIA Isabela)
