Local entrepreneurs, stakeholders converge to celebrate MSME Week

SAN JOSE, Antique (PIA) – –   Local entrepreneurs converged with other stakeholders in Antique in celebration of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)Week recently.

Department of Trade and Industry-Antique Provincial Director Mutya D. Eusores acknowledged the partnership, cooperation, and support of various national and local government agencies in delivering services to MSMEs vital to their growth and development.

According to DTI Antique, the first Provincial MSME Summit recently held at the Old Capitol was successful in gathering the stakeholders to provide valuable networking opportunities, and collaboration with financing institutions, and government partner agencies towards empowering the MSMEs.

DTI 6 Business Development Division OIC-Chief Therese Grace Marla echoed the commitment of Regional Director Rachel Nufable and DTI 6 to promoting the nation’s trade, industry, and investment activities to support the growth of MSMEs.

Recognizing the contribution of MSMEs for carrying out exemplary business ethics and responsible practices, seven business establishments were given Bagwis Awards for 2023 during the summit.

Likewise, the Esprutingkle Food Corporation was recognized for being the Regional Finalist in the 2024 Presidential Award for Outstanding MSME, honoring the company’s commitment to growth, competitiveness, innovation, and sustainability.

Also present is the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) which also shared its several programs and services enhancing the competitiveness and productivity of local businesses.

On the part of financing institutions like the Landbank of the Philippines and Small Business Corporation (SBCorp), they also provide information on loan opportunities, qualifications, requirements, and application processes.

The event also earned support from Antique’s top officials, Governor Rhodora Cadiao, Vice Governor Edgar Denosta, Antique’s Lone District Representative Antonio Agapito Legarda and Senator Loren Legarda, with messages of commitment to sustain endeavors in enhancing the capacities of local entrepreneurs.

MSMEs week also featured a display of local products at the Old Capitol dubbed as Tindahang Lokal showcasing the banner products of the province including food, home decor, accessories and other items with vibrant colors and authentic designs.
