Locals thank government’s reintegration efforts in Cotabato Province

KIDAPAWAN CITY, Cotabato Province (PIA) – Barangay Gayola residents in Kidapawan City, Cotabato Province, were recently the recipients of the Serbisyong Totoo Caravan of the provincial government and the Soccsksargen’s Joint Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (JRTF-ELCAC).

Barangay Gayola was the second community this year to receive the services under the government’s ongoing efforts to reintegrate areas that were once impacted by rebel activity.

Vangie Baluyot, a local resident, shared her appreciation for the program and the many benefits it had for her and the residents of Barangay Gayola.

“I want to express my heartfelt thanks for choosing Barangay Gayola to be the location of this caravan,” Baluyot said, expressing her gratitude to the government.

She also highlighted some of the essential services that made a real difference in her daily life.

“Our dogs received free anti-rabies vaccines, our chickens were given free vitamins, and our goats were dewormed. These services have been an incredible help to us,” she added, emphasizing the positive impact the caravan had on her community.

Meanwhile, Sally Aguan, another resident, also commended the extensive range of services delivered during the event.

“We are incredibly grateful for this program, especially the free rice, which has been a huge help for our families. We also received free dental care, fruit seedlings, and many other valuable services,” Aguan said, sharing her first-hand experience.

The interventions not only addressed immediate needs but also supported the long-term well-being of the community.

The Serbisyong Totoo Caravan is part of the continuing government’s peace-building initiative under Executive Order No. 70, which implements a “Whole-of-Nation Approach” to end local communist armed conflict in the country.

To continue the momentum of the government’s efforts, two more barangays in Kidapawan City are also set to benefit from similar services, the provincial government said, reiterating the caravan’s goal of not only providing immediate relief services but also creating long-term peace-building initiatives.
