ODIONGAN, Romblon (PIA) — The local government of Looc received an amount of P1,105,292 from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Mimaropa recently. The said fund is allocated for the agency’s livelihood program aimed at supporting the livelihoods of 42 residents in the said town.
The livelihood projects, expected to be implemented through the Public Employment Services Office of the municipality, aim to provide the necessary assistance to those in need specially those Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4PS) graduates. The program seeks to empower individuals by offering opportunities for sustainable income generation.
Present during the ceremonial turnover of the check were DOLE Mimaropa Regional Director Naomi Lyn Abellana, Looc Mayor Lisette Arboleda, and DOLE Romblon Provincial Director Carlo Villaflores.
In a statement, Looc Mayor Lisette Arboleda said that the aid of DOLE is seen as a significant boost to the local economy, with the livelihood program expected to create positive changes in the lives of the beneficiaries. (PJF/PIA MIMAROPA – Romblon)
