BOAC, Marinduque (PIA) — A total of 891 motorists benefit from the mobile emission testing conducted by the Land Transportation Office (LTO)-Boac District Office.
A total of 589 motorcycles, 265 tricycles for hire, and 37 utility vehicles participated in the evaluation. LTO aims to lessen the persistent issue of the lengthy queues at the province’s lone private emission testing center (PETC).
The emission testing was conducted for 12 days in coordination with the Local Government Unit of Boac and the Provincial Government of Marinduque.
In his message, Vice Mayor Mark Anthony Seño expressed his gratitude to the Department of Transportation (DOTr) for granting the local government’s request. Seño also added that the national agency is in the process of reviewing the two private emission testing centers who secured an authorization to operate.
“We sincerely thank the DOTr for providing their quick response to alleviate the congestion at the PETC and for helping our fellowmen in securing the much needed requirement in renewing their vehicles. We are also grateful for the proactive efforts of LTO-Boac for facilitating the mobile emission testing,” said Seño.
The success of the program provided practical solutions for the benefit of the community especially the motorists and riding public. (RAMJR/AMKDA/PIA MIMAROPA – Marinduque)
